Nectar & Light

i am signing off for a little blog vacation - the wrapping is piling up, the calendar is packed and there are some projects needing closure.  have a truly wonderful holiday season - i hope all of your dreams come true - dreams of love, light, hope, beauty, health, safety, warmth and family.  i will try to pop in this space before the new year and will be on flickr in the meantime, but will be back in full swing on 5 january 2009!

we had a lovely but incredibly busy weekend.  friday night was a much overdue night out with one of my dearest girlfriends - a wonderful dinner and amazing show at slowdown.  if you have a chance to catch vetiver i highly recommend it - they are one of my favorites right now and i was in heaven.  early saturday morning i was so lucky to get to photograph the lovely little lady above and her gorgeous baby sister - thank you so much kelly for letting me come over and play!   for more information on my work with little ones, visit rosyeve & fey.  have a wonderful monday friends...

when the timing of our little adventure of picking up our life and moving to italy did not work out earlier this year, my husband and i made a commitment to each other and our girls:  until we are able to cross the atlantic for good - we will make the most of where we are right this second. growing up here, i can tell you i never thought i would come back - after 10 years - it beckoned - and here we are.  needlesstosay, i was so excited to put an omaha guide together for grace at design*sponge - you can find it here.  if i missed anything be sure to add it to the comments on the post over at d*s.

we had a lovely weekend of which i was so blessed to spend some time alone with my mom.  brunch and an art market made for a truly beautiful sunday.  i hope yours was just as fulfilling.  a few things i am loving right now:

~ can't stop listening to the blue van;

~ this is one of my favorite photographs ever - it reminds me of being in the louvre on a late winter afternoon - it makes my heart stop;

~ on my wishlist - wish being the key word;

~ where we're from from the the minds behind the ones we love;

hello friends!  i hope you had a lovely long weekend full of family, good food and lots of hugs.  the shots above are from our thanksgiving feast {and no, they are not polaroids ;)}.  after such indulgences i was unsure if i could even muster the effort to get to the pool this morning, but i did, and i am thankful for it.

some news regarding the photo trade:  the november trade was the last of 2008.  i hope to bring back the trade in the new year but my calendar is filling up fast - we shall see how it all goes.  it is an important project to me and i want to be able to continue the fun...

~ a new destination for polaroid lovers - i have some black and white 600 film on the way - very exciting - shipping is steep so stock your cart to make it worth it;

~ this just puts a smile on my face {it was just featured on NPR a few hours ago - i don't think their server is handling the traffic well - so check back on it};

~ my dear friend just bought this and said it is the most amazing book;

~ the light in this image is of the sweetest daydreams;

~ listening endlessly to this - it transports me to a warmer place;
