happy almost tuesday friends! my dear friend and next door neighbor was kind enough to stop over this evening and show me how to use my sewing machine. i have owned this little white box of intimidation for over two years and have yet to do anything with it. as part of our journey in shaping a new life, one that creates intimate relationships with all aspects of our exsistance, i really have the urge to make simple {achingly simple} totes and tank dresses for the girls. and someday in the far {very far} future, maybe simple little shifts for myself. in the meantime {and long thereafter}, i will continue to crave, desire, pine and pray for creations by these incrediable women:

far, far away. that said, i will start with totes for the girl's library books. if i am brave enough to show you the result, it will accompany a list of my favorite hand-made totes designers out there. have a lovely day!

p.s. if some of the shops listed above are empty, be sure to check out there 'sold' gallery. and thank you all so much for sweet comments about the upcoming show - thank you, thank you!!
I am also learning to use my sewing machine. It's intimidating but fun. "Simple Sewing" by Lotta Jansdotter is a great pattern book with easy to follow directions. I made a cute tote using her pattern and am very happy with it. Good luck!

I'm in a similar boat. Since I started blogging last year, I've been itching to get crafty and creative. I'm working on getting more into photography and I'm also crazy about sewing. I haven't gotten a machine yet but I'm on the market and can't wait to get my hands on one.
On a side note, I love this:
