we had a lovely weekend with family {den's parents came into town for the weekend} and our first walk about the brooklyn botanical gardens - so very beautiful and truly inspiring - my mind is spinning with ideas since our afternoon there. and after eating an amazing meal at athena - den and i are trying something new. we both have been so tired and run down - maybe it's our crazy summer catching up with us - maybe it's the over indulgence of exploring the eateries in our new neighborhood. but we are going greek. we are going to try and limit our diet to fruit, veggies, nuts, olives, breads, cheeses and fish. last night i even though about starting a new blog to chronicle our efforts - but i think we'll give it a couple of weeks first. in the meantime, here are some things that i am super excited about and prove that print is not dead:
~ anthology - a new print {yes, print!!} shelter magazine - can not wait for my first copy to arrive;
~ gourmet is back with a series of special editions - the first is available now - maybe i can still fulfill my dream of shooting for them;
~ you might find a photo of my hand - or maybe my arm - in this book featuring lovely photos by my good friend jen causey;
~ and so excited about the readymade community cookbook - have you submitted yet?
see you soon...

Great idea Jen. I love this way of eating and we do it often. My favorite meal is a big salad with dill, parsley, greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, sheep's milk feta and lemon & olive oil dressing paired with a piece of grilled meat or fish. Sooo good! xoxo

it took us about 7 months to figure out we couldn't permanently indulge in all the amazing new york eateries - glad you figured it out quickly!
