the movers are here. boxes are starting to stack up around me. my heart is racing. i am not sure if it's excitement, anxiety or the copious amounts of caffeine i have consumed over the last week. most likely, all of the above. we had a busy but beautiful weekend. we held a yard sale to sell a lot of the things that can not make the move with us - and it brought some of our favorite people out - the weather was gorgeous and the girls played with the gaggle of neighborhood children all day long - it was wonderful. saturday evening we grilled steaks in the backyard {at adie's insistence} for our last meal as a family at our home. sunday, we hosted a bbq for our neighbors. i made boilermaker pulled pork {it slow cooked in beer and whiskey for 24 hours} and my first from scratch bbq sauce - it was insane.
today and tomorrow will be full of more boxes and moving trucks - taking our clothes and personal items to my mom's and general mayhem. thursday, i fly back over the pond. i am dancing somewhere between laughter and tears. i know that if i can make it through this month - the most painful part will be behind us and we can move forward with hope in our hearts and adventure before us...

This reminds me of leaving Berkeley, you know you are pointed in the right direction but it still hurts your heart (and your head) to be leaving. I wish you and your family the very best and I look forward to reading about your many adventures! Take care...

I know what this feels like. :) Kind of exciting and sickening at the same time, as you prepare for big changes. Best of peace and smoothness as these things occur!

i found your blog via the stir motherhood slide-show. I can't get enough of this.
And I just absolutely love this picture! I think it captures everything that motherhood (and childhood) is. Brilliant!

You capture your daughters and their sister moments so beautifully. I was one of the three sisters and I always so enjoy the nostalgia your beauty-full images bring.
