Gone

i am sorry for the lack of posts last week - days after arriving home from atlanta, my brother's family came into town to stay with us for the week.  it was the last chance to spend some time with him before he deploys for the fourth time.  it is a very emotional time for me, he is my baby brother and seeing him as a man - one who has created a beautiful family with a caring wife, and two gorgeous daughters is surreal at times.  but it is the life he has chosen, his unselfish and unwavering devotion to America that moves me to tears nearly every time he walks across the landscape of my thoughts.  truly, it is the angry growl of his Harley that i hear first - then his face comes into focus - the boy i love so and the man i respect endlessly.   please pray for his safe return...

I admire your brother and others like him, so very much. They give a gift to this country that deserves our highest respect.

have a nice week, i have a younger brother too, i understand what you mean when you feel a bit like a mum....

May he be safe and return to his family. I have a loved one that deploys every so often, and it's always hard to see him go, too.

I will pray for his safe return and that of so many other brothers, sisters, sons and daughters who are deployed right now.

He'll definitely be in my prayers. My dad is being deployed for the 2nd time in a few weeks...I know how this feels. It's something you admire them for, and don't want to happen at the same time.

You've got it, I'm praying.

Totally love that motorcycle shot. Makes me sad I ever gave up riding. Oh well, I'm way too old.

First of all, on my behalf, please thank your little brother for the incredible sacrifices he makes for our country. We should have more people like him. Secondly, thank you for your artful, inspiring, ephemeral images that give my day a gentle pause.

i'm praying.

My brother is older than me but still I can't imagine worrying about him in a situation like that. May your brother indeed come back from his deployment safe and sound. What a wonderful photograph also. Be Well and looking forward to your next post. Thanks for your beautiful and honest sharing, Mandy Saile

Your beautiful, sincere feelings gave me goosebumps.
Jen, may your brother and your family stay strong and may the time pass quickly.

Oh, I wish your brother well Jen. He will be in my thoughts.
All the very best,
xo
